Hot Yoga π§ββοΈ π₯
As a broke medical student, I am always on the lookout for student discounts and free food/classes. So naturally, once I found a yoga studio offering free classes to students, I got a group of friends together and signed up. I thought this would be an easy and fun way to procrastinate from all of my studying. Well, we accidentally signed up for the intermediate class and realized yoga is much more difficult than it seems. First, our instructor was speaking the language of yoga which sounded like jibberish to me. I had no idea what any of the moves were, so I did my best to copy what everyone else around me was doing. This created lots of awkward eye contact with middle-aged moms. It was especially awkward when your in downward dog or crying baby positionπ π . Awkwardness aside, the class was amazing. My body loosened up tremendously within the hour, got a great sweat, and challenged my body in a new way. Our instructor continually emphasized breathing in peace and breathing out all of the stress we felt inside. By the end of the class, my stress levels were extremely low and solitude captivated my mind. I felt as if I had hit the reset button on my brain. Maybe you could use some yoga in your life.
Cheers to fun/new experiences with those around you!
