Vacation Vibes

Sunny rays🌅 hit our eyes as we valiantly attempted to jump over the massive waves🌊 crashing down on the shore. Occasionally, we would take a break to walk through the gritty sand in hopes of adding a few seashells to our growing collection. Inevitably hunger would strike and we found ourselves buying ice cream for the 100th time or heading back to the resort to grab a quick bite. Talking about ice cream, we headed to a milkshake bar called Crazy Mason's where they served diabetes in a cup. What made Crazy Mason's memorable was the toppings they decorated the top of the jar with. We had a whole donut on one, banana bread, brownies, a slice of cheesecake, and many more.... ahhhh sugar high🍬!!! Don't worry, I checked with the coolest nurse ever before leaving and she reassured me that the chances of developing diabetes or clogging all of my arteries while on vacation were slim to none.... thank God haha. Of course, being in the south we had to grab bbq and found the perfect hole-in-the-wall bbq joint🔥🥩. The highlight was for sure the ribs that literally fell off the bone by just staring at them. In addition, their beer-battered onion rings were also to die for as they were the crunchiest/biggest onion rings I have ever tried. In a desperate attempt to avoid expanding our waistline any further, we traveled to an outdoor inflatable water obstacle course. I won't lie, it looked very easy from the pictures but was anything from easy. I don't have enough fingers to count the number of times I fell off an obstacle or was pushed... thanks Alex and Nicolas haha. We were all completely exhausted after 2 hours of climbing, hanging, jumping, and laughing. These were just a few of the amazing experiences we got to share as a family these past couple of days at Myrtle Beach.

Something I struggle with is detaching from the daily grind and allowing myself time to recharge my batteries. I spend so much time preparing and grinding towards "work", yet I spend little effort setting up a time to rejuvenate myself. During this past month of traveling around, I've focused on truly living in the present moment and doing my best to put aside "work". It's a start and I have a long ways to go, but that's exciting because I still have a lot of living to do! Nothing grounds you as much as chilling on the beach with your best buds, watching the waves crash down as you enjoy some Italian ice.
