Thanksgiving TurkeyπŸ¦ƒπŸ—πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘¦β€πŸ‘¦

I am always on the lookout for new challenges and this year I decided to attempt to cook our Thanksgiving turkeyπŸ¦ƒ. My confidence level was soaring after watching Gordon Ramsey prepare and cook the bird with ease. Then, on Wednesday night as I took the turkey out of the fridge, I realized it was completely frozen...πŸ₯ΆπŸ₯Ά Gordon Ramsey never mentioned how long to defrost the turkey, and Google told me 2-3 days for a 15 pound turkey. (You are going to need 4-5 days πŸ˜†). At this point, I was ready to leave the turkey out for a couple of hours on the counter to defrost. This was until I read online that leaving the turkey out for more than 2 hours will almost guarantee food poisoning...🀒🀒 Instead, I proceeded to spend the next 4 hours dunking the turkey in a cold water bath and changing the water every 30 minutes. Finally, around 11 o'clock, the turkey was defrosted enough and I started to massage the citrus lemon butter marinade all over the turkey. Fast forward to the next day, I preheated the oven to 350, baked the turkey for 3 hours, and let it sit for another 3 hours. Thankfully no one got sick and the turkey was moist and deliciousπŸ˜‹. I will take this as a win in my books after what went down the night prior haha. Once again I was taught that proper preparation is the key to success. If you fail to prepare, you are only hurting your future success.
